Diploma in Early Childhood Education

The Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education is being proposed to respond to the growing and acute demand for children education and care. Uganda like many sub-Saharan countries faces a challenge of semi trained and ill skilled child care providers due to the inadequacy in child care training centres and programmes. This programme intends to equip teacher trainees with knowledge, skills and values for addressing child care and education needs. Early childhood education and care is about providing a balanced and stimulating course of study emphasizing the application of the practical methods, principles and theory in which the social, legal and economic context of early years operate.

By exposing students to a rigorous curriculum that emphases ECD knowledge and skills, MBS successfully equips them with competencies to succeed and excel in the contemporary world of work. Students intending to pursue ECD will be enriched with multiple skills and knowledge offered by this program in attending to the holistic development of Children.

Applicants for this in service program must have:

An ECD certificate of the Multitech Business School or any of other recognized tertiary institution.
Obtained at least one (1) advanced level principal pass and two (2) subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (U.A.C.E) examinations or qualifications equivalent to U.A.C.E.

Seat the UCE examinations (equivalent) and obtained at least 5 passes.

Grade III Teacher Certificate

Mature Entry scheme

All students who scored a CGPA less than 2.0 during the certificate program and worked for at least 3years will sit for the mature age entry exam and get admitted upon scoring 50% in the mature age entry examination.
