Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)

The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) was designed with emphasis on acquire the business, media, computing and communication skills necessary for employment and career opportunities in today’s ICT industries and business organizations. BIT Degree Programme will enable students develop conceptual and practical IT skills in integrating financial, organizational, marketing and production/service function with an overall business strategy.

In the wake of globalization, many economies including the Uganda’s economy continue to face enormous challenges that require invigorating business and management skills across the social, economic, and political spectrum. In this era, a number of entrepreneur opportunities have been created and others lost due to inadequate skills in business management owing to stiff competition.

 

The Bachelor of Business Administration and Management is infused with business knowledge, skills and attitudes which makes it unique and therefore able to produce graduates that possess both entrepreneurial skills as well as various skills and knowledge in various  business disciplines for effective business start-ups and management.

The majority will take up administrative positions in Information and Communication Technology (computing and ICT-based) sectors, and other positions such as;
Admission Requirements
In order to be admitted for this Course, a candidate must satisfy the general minimum entry requirements of Multitech Business School in addition to the following shall hold:-
a. Direct Entry.
A candidate must satisfy the general minimum entry requirements of Multitech Business School. In addition, the following regulations shall hold:
Candidates seeking admission through this avenue must have obtained: -
i. The Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent, with credits in English and Mathematics.
ii. At least two principal passes at the same sitting in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) in any two subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Literature, Entrepreneurship, Technical Drawing and Fine Art).
iii. For purposes of computing weighted points, the advanced level subjects shall be grouped.
b. Diploma Holders
i. At least any second Class (lower division) diploma from a recognized institution.
ii. Candidates who hold a Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology from Multitech Business School with at least second class (lower division) shall be admitted to second year of Bachelor of Information Technology. Candidates who hold a pass class of the same diploma shall be admitted to first year of Bachelor of Information Technology.
c. Higher Education Certificate (HEC)
Holders of a higher education certificate from an institution recognized by national council for higher education.
